SIR AGHA KHAN

H.R.H. the Agha Khan was a leader of Muslim public and political opinion. In 1906, he led the historic Simla Deputation, to the then Viceroy Lord Mintom, and presented to him a Memorandum which demanded separate electorate and safeguard of Muslim rights.
The Agha Khan joined the Muslim League and was its permanent President from 1909 ti 1914. He came into close touch with Sir Syed Ahmed Khan who sought his help to make the cherished dream of a Muslim University a reality. The Agha Khan worked with missionary zeal for the foundation of the Muslim University.
He also presided over the All India Muslim League Conference in 1928 and led the Muslim Delegation at the Round Table Conference held in London from 1930-32.
